Are you passionate about helping children thrive in the classroom? We are working with a number of welcoming primary schools across Southampton that are seeking caring and enthusiastic Part-Time Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join their teams from September 2026.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide valuable support to pupils, helping them access learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential. You may work with individual pupils, small groups, or within the classroom, supporting children with a range of learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to make a positive difference in their education and well-being while benefiting from the flexibility of a part-time role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities
  • Support children with additional learning needs, including SEN
  • Encourage pupils' confidence, independence, and social development
  • Help create a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to support pupil progress

  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and well-being
  • A willingness to learn and develop within a school setting
