Learning Support Assistant – Secondary SEN Schools
Location: Portsmouth and surrounding areas
Pay: £14.25 per hour

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking motivated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to work within Secondary SEN schools across Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students access learning in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment. Working alongside teachers and other education professionals, you will provide tailored support that meets the individual needs of each student.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing one-to-one support for students with additional learning needs

  • Assisting small groups during classroom activities and interventions

  • Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural development

  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning

  • Working closely with teaching staff to implement support strategies

  • Helping to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Passionate about supporting young people and making a positive difference

  • Patient, resilient, and empathetic in their approach

  • Strong communicators who can build positive relationships with students and staff

  • Adaptable and able to respond to the varying needs of learners

  • Experienced in education, care, support work, or similar settings (desirable but not essential)

To be considered for this position, applicants must hold a Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one through the registration process.
