Are you passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives? We are looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals to support pupils in a specialist provision supporting children with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN).

This is not your typical classroom role — every day is different, bringing new challenges, rewards, and opportunities to positively impact a child’s development.


Portfield provides a nurturing, structured, and highly personalised environment for pupils with:

No two days are the same in this role! You could be:

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups
  • Helping deliver adapted and engaging lessons
  • Managing behaviour with a calm, positive approach
  • Providing emotional support and reassurance
  • Assisting with personal care where needed
  • Taking part in sensory activities, outdoor learning, or life skills sessions

Flexibility and resilience are key — you’ll need to think on your feet and adapt to the needs of each student.


We welcome candidates from a range of backgrounds, including:

  • SEN experience
  • Care or support work
  • Youth work or mentoring
  • Healthcare or residential support
