Learning Support Assistant – SEN School

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in the Chorley area. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs.
The role will involve supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties, both in the classroom and through one-to-one support. You will work closely with teachers and senior staff to help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Key responsibilities
Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
Support students with their social, emotional, and behavioural development
Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
Encourage independence and confidence in learners
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
Requirements
Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
