Learning Support Assistant - Durham Secondary Schools
Teaching Personnel is recruiting Learning Support Assistants for long-term temporary positions across secondary schools in Durham, with a September 2026 start. These roles sit within established support teams in inclusive school environments that recognise the vital contribution support staff make to student outcomes every single day.
Working across KS3 and KS4, you'll be providing targeted support to students who face barriers to learning - helping them access the curriculum, build confidence, and make meaningful progress over time. Long-term placements mean you'll get to know your students properly, and that consistency is often what makes the biggest difference.
The role:
What we're looking for:
Reliable, patient individuals with experience supporting secondary school aged children. You'll need a solid understanding of how additional needs present in the classroom, confidence working alongside teaching staff, and the ability to build trusted relationships with students who may find school challenging. A Level 3 qualification in education or a related field is desirable, though relevant hands-on experience will always be considered.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required.
