Full time Learning Support Assistant opportunity in Southampton

A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school is seeking a full-time Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs within a structured and nurturing environment.

The role will involve working across the school day with a small number of pupils who have EHCPs, providing targeted support to help them access learning, develop independence, and achieve their individual outcomes. You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to implement personalised strategies and maintain a consistent approach to support.

The ideal educator will:

  • Have experience working with children with additional needs, particularly those with EHCPs
  • Demonstrate a patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
  • Be confident supporting learning on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Build positive relationships that promote engagement and emotional wellbeing
  • Work effectively as part of a collaborative school team
