We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Salford. This is a full-time role starting in September 2026, with opportunities to work in the school before September to support pupils and become familiar with the team and setting.

You will work closely with students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), supporting them to engage with learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential.

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN, including those with EHCPs
  • Support pupils in and out of the classroom setting
  • Assist teaching staff in adapting lessons and resources to meet individual needs
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Support students’ academic, social and personal development
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (e.g. autism, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties)
  • A patient, empathetic and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine commitment to supporting young people
  • Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential)
  • A supportive and inclusive school environment
