Learning Support Assistants needed in Southampton!

We are working in partnership with a welcoming school in Southampton to recruit an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their team.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a confident and resilient individual who is passionate about supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning. The role will involve working with small intervention groups, providing targeted support for children who require additional help outside of the mainstream classroom.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting pupils with a range of needs, including those who may display challenging behaviour. You will play a key role in helping pupils develop both academically and socially, using a patient, consistent and nurturing approach.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role
  • Is confident delivering small group interventions
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils who require additional support
  • Has strong behaviour management skills and remains calm under pressure
  • Works effectively as part of a wider school team
