SEN Learning Support Assistant 

Teaching Personnel work alongside a fantastic  primary school based in Hackney. We are searching for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support this school on a full time basis from late April/Early May . You would be supporting an EYFS pupil with undiagnosed SEN, this would include supporting him with his learning throughout the day, ensuring he remains engaged, behaviour management and assistance with feeding at lunchtime.


To be successful, you must:

  • Have 6 months experience working in special needs as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant or Nursery Nurse
  • Be knowledgeable on how to successfully manage behaviour linked to Autism, Mental Health Needs and Learning Difficulties
  • Have completed a Degree or Level 2 or higher Teaching Assistant Qualification
  • Be able to quickly engage and build rapport with pupils
  • Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered to the Update Service, or be willing to complete one through GSL Education
  • Be an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who leads by example

he ideal SEN Teaching Assistant should:

  • Have experience working with SEN students
  • Have training or experience in Makaton, PECS, or be Team Teach trained
  • Be flexible and patient, as the Special Needs will vary
  • Be able to communicate effectively within a team
  • Be committed to work full-time
  • Have a enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one through Teaching Personnel
  • Uk address and right to work
  • Safeguarding experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
