Job Description: We are currently seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a specialized SEN school in the NG10 area. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing one-on-one and small group support to students with a range of special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized support to students with SEN, including those with autism, learning disabilities, and communication difficulties.
  • Assist students with academic tasks, social interactions, and personal care needs as required.
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies under the guidance of teaching staff.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Collaborate effectively with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals to ensure coordinated support for students with SEN.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, ideally within a school or care setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of students with SEN.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and respond to challenging situations effectively.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or health and social care would be advantageous but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
