Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support and assistance to students with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met effectively.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages the social and emotional growth of students.
  • Assist with academic tasks, ensuring access to the curriculum and facilitating active engagement in learning.
  • Encourage independence and self-confidence in students with SEN, helping them achieve their full potential.
  • Monitor and track students' progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant is highly preferred.
  • Relevant qualifications and certifications in SEN support or teaching assistance are advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of various SEN conditions and a commitment to staying up-to-date with best practices.
  • Compassion, patience, and the ability to build rapport with students and their families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with school staff and external professionals.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the unique needs of different students and learning environments.
