Vacancy: Learning Support Assistant, Full Time (Term Time Only)

A rewarding opportunity has arisen for a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist primary school in the Winchester area. This is a full-time, permanent position starting in September, supporting pupils with additional learning needs in a dedicated specialist setting.
The school supports children aged 4 to 11 years with Moderate Learning Difficulties and a range of associated needs. Pupils benefit from structured support to develop communication, emotional regulation, social skills, and independence.
Staff work together to provide a nurturing, well-structured environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential. The school is based on a well-resourced specialist site designed to meet a wide range of learning needs.
You will work alongside teaching staff to support pupils both in the classroom and across the school.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting pupils with learning activities and engagement
• Providing 1 to 1 and small group support
• Encouraging social skills, confidence, and independence
• Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
• Working closely with teachers and the wider support team
• Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
• Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
The school offers a strong programme of professional development, including specialist SEND training, PRICE training, and opportunities to gain recognised SEN-related qualifications.
