Teaching Personnel are currently working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Cannock who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their support team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and helping students overcome barriers to learning. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide personalised support for students, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The role would suit experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, support workers, youth workers, graduates, or individuals looking to build a rewarding career within education.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students across the classroom.
  • Support students with additional learning needs, including SEND, autism, ADHD, and communication needs.
  • Assist teachers with lesson activities and classroom organisation.
  • Help students develop confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours.
  • Encourage engagement and participation in lessons.
  • Support students with emotional, social, and academic development.
  • Assist with implementing individual support plans and interventions.
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience supporting SEND students is advantageous.
  • A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a wider support team.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
  • Relevant experience in education, care, youth work, or support roles is beneficial.
