ASD Provision located in the London Borough of Greenwich is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (ASD) who can work Monday to Friday in April 2024.

Outstanding and Forward-thinking ASD Provision with a strong Senior Leadership Team, SEN Teachers and behavioural staff. Exciting opportunity to work in a successful provision with children who been diagnosed with Autism and Complex Needs.  The pupils have EHCPs and it would be important to have a good understanding of Educational Health Care Plans.

You will be working with a pupil on a 1:1 basis with sensory activities inside the classroom and also supporting the SEN Teacher.

• Worked as either a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) or SEN TA/ Youth Worker / Behaviour Mentor / Learning Mentor etc
• Supporting the classroom teacher in delivering the curriculum
• Providing 1:1 support to students with ASD and Complex Needs
• Supporting students with sensory issues within the classroom
• Assisting with the preparation and delivery of sensory activities
• Supporting students with Behaviour Difficulties
• Experience working as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) with children and young people with ASD and Complex Needs
• Knowledge of classroom management techniques
• Experience in providing 1:1 support
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Willingness to undergo training and development
• Can successfully de-escalate challenging behaviour
• In date Enhanced DBS or able to pay for a new one ASAP
• You live in commutable distance to the London Borough of Greenwich
