Learning Mentor - Wokingham (11 Hours per Week)

Part-Time | Full Academic Year | September Start

Quantum Scholars are currently recruiting for an experienced and compassionate Learning Mentor to provide 1:1 mentoring support for three young boys in Wokingham who are accessing Education Otherwise Than at School (EOTAS) from September.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who require personalised support outside of a mainstream educational setting. You will play a key role in helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and essential life skills, enabling them to achieve positive outcomes both now and in the future.

As a Learning Mentor, you will deliver engaging and meaningful mentoring sessions tailored to each pupil's individual needs. Your focus will be on supporting their personal, social and emotional development, encouraging independence, and helping to prepare them for adulthood through practical and personalised support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting pupils with confidence building and developing self-esteem.
• Helping young people develop essential life skills and promote independence.
• Preparing pupils for adulthood through practical and personalised mentoring.
• Building positive, trusting and professional relationships with each young person.
• Delivering engaging mentoring sessions tailored to individual needs and learning styles.
• Encouraging social and emotional development while celebrating progress and achievements.
• Working collaboratively with other professionals involved in the pupils' support where required.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have previous experience working as a Learning Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Tutor, or in a similar role supporting children or young people.
• Be passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and personal development.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be patient, empathetic and adaptable in their approach.
• Be confident building positive and professional relationships with pupils and professionals alike.
• Have a genuine commitment to supporting young people to reach their full potential.

This is a part-time position offering 11 hours of support per week. The provision is expected to run throughout the full academic year, with the potential to continue beyond this period.
