We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and caring Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive school community. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential and who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.

The successful candidate will support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2, working closely with class teachers to provide high-quality educational experiences and ensure all pupils can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Position: Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant
Location: Primary School in Burnley
Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour
Contract: Full Time
Start Date: 1st September or as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and boost pupil progress.
  • Assist in preparing learning resources and classroom activities.
  • Support children with varying learning needs, including those with SEND.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress as directed by the class teacher.
  • Supervise pupils during break times, educational visits, and school activities when required.
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within Key Stage 2.
  • Is patient, adaptable, and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
  • Can use initiative and work effectively under the guidance of teaching staff.
  • Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Has GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
