KS2 Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a range of primary schools across the NP8 area who are looking to recruit confident, proactive and reliable Year 4 Teaching Assistants to support pupils within Key Stage 2 (KS2).

This role is ideal for individuals with experience supporting primary-aged children, particularly within KS2, who are passionate about helping pupils achieve their full potential and can bring enthusiasm, initiative and strong classroom support skills to a busy Year 4 environment.

• Support pupils within a Year 4 classroom on a daily basis
• Assist the class teacher with delivering engaging lessons across the KS2 curriculum
• Provide targeted support in English, Maths and Guided Reading sessions
• Work with small groups and on a 1:1 basis to reinforce learning objectives
• Support pupils with Additional Needs (AN) and differentiated learning requirements
• Promote pupils' confidence, independence and engagement in learning
• Assist with classroom preparation, displays and learning resources
• Support behaviour management in line with school policies
• Help track pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Foster a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment

We're looking for candidates who are not just supportive, but who take initiative and actively contribute to raising attainment and supporting pupil development within KS2.

• Experience working within a primary school setting, preferably in KS2
• Understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, particularly Year 4 expectations
• Ability to support literacy, numeracy and reading interventions
• Confidence supporting pupils with Additional Needs (AN)
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• Strong behaviour management and classroom support skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Proactive, organised and adaptable approach to supporting learning
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents

• Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching & Learning, NVQ, Teaching Assistant Qualification)
• Experience delivering intervention programmes in Maths and English
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, ADHD, ASD or speech and language needs
• Driving licence and access to a vehicle (advantageous within the NP8 area)

• Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to apply for one)
