Are you a passionate and resilient Primary Teacher looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people?

We are seeking a dedicated Primary Teacher to join a specialist school supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school caters for primary-aged pupils who may have experienced barriers to education and require a nurturing, structured, and supportive learning environment. Many pupils may also present with additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, trauma, anxiety, or attachment difficulties.

The Role:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.
  • The majority of teaching will be with Key Stage 2 pupils; however, many students may be working at lower academic levels and will require learning to be adapted accordingly.
  • Be willing to provide cover within Key Stage 1 classes when required.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where pupils can thrive.
  • Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and senior leaders.
  • Promote positive behaviour through relationship-based approaches and consistent routines.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching within a primary setting.
  • Confidence teaching across the primary age range.
  • A patient, adaptable, and resilient approach.
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
  • An understanding of SEMH needs and trauma-informed practice is desirable, although training can be provided.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and welcoming team environment.
  • Small class sizes and high staff-to-pupil ratios.
  • Opportunities for professional development and specialist training.
  • The chance to make a genuine impact on pupils' lives every day.

This role would suit an experienced teacher or someone looking to transition into specialist education and develop their knowledge of SEMH and additional needs.

If you are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve success, we would love to hear from you.
