Teaching Personnel are working on behalf of a school in Stalybridge (SK15) to recruit a KS2 teacher to cover the last term of a maternity leave starting after the Easter Break.

The school are looking for a fully qualified teacher to cover between April 2024 – July 2024. The school are currently recruiting for another position and when this has been finalised, they will be able to confirm the year group for the maternity cover which could be in Year 3 – 6.

  • Long term role guaranteed until the end of the academic year.
  • Full time position 8:30am – 3:30pm
  • Paid to scale earnings on weekly timesheets.

Role

The KS2 class teacher position will be responsible for preparing, planning, and delivering high quality lessons to accelerate the learning of the pupils in the class taking into account those pupils who require additional support and those who require challenge. You will be expected to meet the needs of any children in the class who has additional needs or an EHCP, making good use of the teaching assistant in class to support their learning to meet personalised targets. The role will involve effective marking and providing appropriate feedback, engaging in the wider life of the school, and participating in staff meetings/training for your professional development.

Teacher

The school are looking to appoint an experienced educator with experience teaching in key stage 2. Ideally, the successful candidate will have held a previous role teaching between Year 3 - 6 with a track record of providing a high standard of teaching and a sound understanding of the KS2 curriculum. A strong attitude and approach to classroom management is essential with the headteacher looking for a candidate who can promote a love of learning, excite, and enthuse the students whilst engaging disinterested pupils.

School

The school is a small, single form entry school with around 250 pupils on roll just north of Stalybridge centre in SK15. The school and its staff holds the children at its heart and have a caring and supportive ethos at their core. The school has around 20% of pupils with SEND and 30% eligible for pupil premium funding.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
