A welcoming and ambitious primary school in Waltham Forest is seeking a committed KS1 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term position running until July 2027, offering the chance to work closely with pupils in Key Stage 1 during an important stage of their learning journey.

You'll work alongside experienced teachers to support children's academic progress, confidence and social development while gaining invaluable classroom experience. This role is ideal for graduates or aspiring teachers, with teacher training opportunities available for the right candidate.



What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide classroom support across Key Stage 1 lessons
  • Work with pupils individually and in small intervention groups
  • Help children develop their literacy, numeracy and communication skills
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
  • Prepare learning resources and assist with classroom organisation
  • Support teachers with daily classroom activities
  • Create a positive and inclusive environment where every child can succeed


The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have a passion for working with primary-aged children
  • Be enthusiastic, patient and approachable
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Be keen to develop a career within education
  • Previous school or childcare experience is desirable but not essential
  • Graduates and experienced Teaching Assistants are encouraged to apply
  • Be committed to supporting children's learning and wellbeing
