KS1 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant - BS3 Bristol - Full Time

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm

Are you a patient and nurturing Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding long term 1-1 role? We are working with a mainstream primary school in the BS3 area of Bristol who are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1-1 support to a child in KS1 with additional needs.

Stability is key for this child, so the school is looking for someone who can commit to the role and become a consistent, trusted presence in their day. You will be joining a supportive and friendly team who work closely together to help every child thrive.

The Role:

• Providing dedicated 1-1 support to a KS1 pupil with additional needs within a mainstream classroom
• Building a strong, trusting relationship with the child
• Supporting the child to access classroom learning and stay engaged with activities
• Helping with transitions, daily routines and tasks throughout the school day
• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours
• Supporting social skills, communication and emotional regulation
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to track progress
• Creating a calm, structured and nurturing environment for the child

We Are Looking For:

• Experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting (essential)
• Experience working in a mainstream school is desirable
• Someone who can commit to a long term role and provide consistency
• A calm, patient and reassuring approach
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
• Ability to stay positive and composed in challenging situations
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• Reliability, professionalism and a commitment to safeguarding
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
• Available to start this week
