Kitchen Assistant – Dorchester

Teaching Personnel is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join a school catering team in Dorchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and wants to contribute to creating a positive school environment.

The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day running of the school kitchen, helping to prepare and serve meals while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.

The Role:

• Assist with basic food preparation.
• Help prepare and serve meals to students and staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment.
• Wash and clean kitchen equipment, utensils and work surfaces.
• Assist with stock rotation and storage.
• Follow food hygiene and health and safety procedures.
• Support the wider catering team as required.
• Help ensure students receive a welcoming and efficient lunchtime service.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous kitchen or catering experience is desirable but not essential.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good understanding of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Comfortable working in a busy environment.
• Able to communicate professionally with staff and students.

This role would suit someone with previous catering experience, as well as candidates looking to develop their experience within a school environment.
