Teaching Personnel are working with a supportive primary school in Lancaster who are seeking a dedicated Year 3 Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping children progress academically, socially, and emotionally. The school can offer an immediate start or will consider candidates looking for a September placement.

You will support teaching and learning within a Year 3 classroom, working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons. The role includes a mix of whole-class support, small‑group work, and targeted 1:1 interventions. You will play a key part in helping pupils build confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning.

  • Supporting learning within the Year 3 classroom
  • Leading small‑group interventions in core subjects
  • Providing occasional 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting pupil wellbeing
  • Assisting with classroom setup, organisation, and daily routines
  • Helping children develop resilience and enthusiasm for learning
  • Experience working with KS2 pupils (desirable but not essential)
  • A proactive, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
  • PAYE pay: £14.25 – £15.00 per hour
