Term part-time - MATERNITY COVER

Pay rate: £12.82 - £13.55 per hour 

A Primary School in Colne are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Teaching Assistant with KS2 experience to join our team to cover a maternity leave until the post holder returns. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and have a positive and genuine child-centred approach. They will have a friendly, calm, patient encouraging manner with an ability to make learning engaging. The candidate will need the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members and have SEN experience. The post will include a welfare role – to supervise children over the lunch hour. The post is for 5 mornings and 3 afternoons - to be arranged (plus 2.5 welfare hours to be discussed at interview).

Essential Qualifications: 

- GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English Language

- NVQ level 2 or above qualification (or equivalent) other qualifications appropriate to the post

Essential Experience

- Experience of working with children in a KS2 classroom environment

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members

- Experience of delivering interventions one to one and in small groups Assist teachers in delivering lesson plans to meet the individual needs of SEN children

- Implement interventions and individualised education plans (IEPs) for SEN Children

Desirable Experience

- Experience of working with children with additional learning needs within a school setting

- Knowledge of the needs and learning strategies of SEN children
