INTERVENTION TEACHER.

  • Chorley based (PR6).
  • Start date: May 2024.
  • Supporting children with SEMH needs.
  • Full-time role (Mon-Fri, 8:30-4:00).
  • Competitive daily rate of £110 - £200.

Teaching Personnel has been approached by a specialist provision in Chorley which caters for pupils aged 6-14 with complex social, emotional, and mental health difficulties. Many pupils who attend this school have not had a previously good experience at school and have been persistently absent from education. As a result, the pupils have large gaps in their learning and have low confidence levels in their academic ability.

The school offers a therapeutic environment which allows the pupils to thrive. A varied curriculum is offered including vocational subjects as well as core subjects. The school also focuses on enrichment and connecting the pupils to their environment, as a result pupils should feel more engaged with their education and want to do well.

As an Intervention Teacher you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering specific intervention lessons to individual students.
  • Use creative approaches to teaching to engage pupil’s learning.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Praise good behaviour.
  • Deal with potentially difficult situations.

The role will include using a person’s teaching background to successfully deliver high-quality education to pupils with SEMH and additional needs. You must be resilient, solution focussed and genuinely passionate about working with children who require additional support.

This role is starting from May 2024.
