Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a dedicated Intervention Specialist to work with our partner school in the Stockport area, providing tailored support to students in core subjects.

Intervention Specialist (Core Subjects)

Role Overview:

As an Intervention Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting underachieving pupils in core subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Science. Working closely with teaching staff and the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), you will deliver targeted interventions to address gaps in knowledge and improve students' attainment levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and deliver targeted intervention sessions to support underachieving pupils in core subjects, tailored to their individual needs and learning styles.
  2. Work collaboratively with teaching staff to identify areas for improvement and develop personalised intervention plans for students.
  3. Monitor students' progress closely, using assessment data and formative feedback to adjust intervention strategies as necessary.
  4. Provide support and guidance to classroom teachers on effective intervention techniques and strategies for differentiation.
  5. Maintain accurate records of intervention sessions and student progress, providing regular updates to relevant stakeholders.
  6. Collaborate with parents, external agencies, and other support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student support and intervention.

Requirements:

  • Strong subject knowledge and expertise in core subjects, particularly English, Mathematics, and Science.
  • Previous experience delivering targeted interventions to support underachieving pupils, either within a school setting or through tutoring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to respond effectively to changing student needs and priorities.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, subject specialism, or a related field (desirable but not essential).
