As a Secondary Humanities Teacher, you will teach KS3 students a mix of History and Geography, helping them build strong foundations across both subjects in a structured and consistent way.

Key responsibilities
Teach Humanities across KS3 (History and Geography)
Deliver structured lessons with clear progression
Support pupils in understanding key themes and connections
Develop extended written responses
Track and monitor pupil progress
Maintain calm and consistent classroom routines
Prepare pupils for transition into KS4

The classroom environment
Lessons are organised and clearly structured
Students understand expectations
Learning is steady and progressive
Behaviour is calm and controlled

Skills and experience
Experience teaching Humanities or related subjects
Strong subject knowledge in History and/or Geography
Clear explanation and communication skills
Organisation and classroom management

What success looks like
Students explain ideas clearly across subjects
Written work improves in structure and detail
Confidence increases over time

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with History, Geography, or humanities backgrounds
