Humanities Teacher- Full Time- Tamworth based secondary school- To start after Easter

 

Are you an experienced and passionate humanities teacher seeking your next opportunity within Tamworth, Staffordshire?

The team at Teaching Personnel are working closely with a fantastic mainstream secondary school based in Tamworth (B77) to appoint a humanities teacher on a full time basis until the end of the academic year. There will be opportunities for permanent positions for the suitable candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher who is committed to delivering engaging Humanities lessons (History, Geography, Religious Studies or related subjects) at KS3 and KS4, with the possibility of teaching KS5 for suitable candidates.

 

Important Details:

- Start date: April 2026

- Hours: Full Time (Mon-Fri, 08:30-15:30)

- Location: Tamworth, B77

- Rate of pay: To scale (MPS/UPS)

 

The role outlined:

- Plan a range of lessons across humanities specialisms, including RS, History, Geography and PSHE (dependent upon timetable)

- Deliver engaging lessons which inspire all learners from Years 7-11

- Differentiate lessons to suit the individual needs within the class, adapting to suit various learning styles to ensure all students get the most out of the lesson

- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all learners to thrive

- Assess pupil progress on a regular basis, providing feedback to support their learning and development

- Work closely with other members of the humanities team, adopting a collaborative approach

- Be a positive role model within the wider school community

- Contribute to extra curricular activities and wider school events to engage with the ethos of creating a purposeful atmosphere around the school

 

Our ideal applicant will:

- Hold a UK QTS in humanities or a humanities subject specifically (RS, Geography, History, PSHE)

- Be confident to teach across multiple specialisms within the wider humanities subject

- Have recent, relevant experience teaching humanities within a UK secondary school

- Be a strong classroom presence with confident behaviour management skills

- Have the ability to command a classroom and get the best out of the pupils

- Have strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach lessons to a high standard
