A welcoming and supportive primary school in Central Salisbury is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HLTA or a highly experienced Teaching Assistant looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, with a particular focus on Key Stage 2.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and cover classes in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2.
  • Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups to help pupils achieve their full potential.
  • Assist with assessing pupil progress and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Promote high expectations for behaviour, learning, and achievement.
  • Have previous experience working within a primary school setting.
  • Have experience supporting pupils in Key Stage 2.
  • Hold a recognised HLTA qualification or have relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Be confident leading whole-class learning when required.
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Be enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to supporting children to succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
