Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for secondary schools in Durham from September 2026. HLTA status is essential — this is a role for someone qualified and experienced enough to lead sessions independently, cover classes, and operate as a senior member of the support team without hand-holding.

To be considered:

  • Higher Level Qualification (Level 3+)
  • Substantial experience as a TA in a secondary school setting
  • Confidence leading learning and managing a classroom independently
  • Strong understanding of SEND
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
