I am currently working with a client who are looking to recruit two full time members of staff to work across Gateshead for the remainder of the academic year.  Specifically they require a HLTA (or of similar experience) and a level 3 EYFS teaching assistant, both are to start ASAP.  Please see below requirements:

Level 4 HLTA with experience of working with children with autism in Reception and Year 1 to work peripatetically in primary schools across Gateshead.  Ideally experience as follows:

• Higher-Level Teaching Assistant Standards (Level 4) or hold an equivalent qualification.

• Experience will include working with young children with complex social communication difficulties/autism to support their access and inclusion. This will include devising, planning and delivering successful 1:1 and group activities, including emotional regulation approaches.

• Understanding of impact of complex social communication difficulties/autism upon aspects of learning and language development and access to the curriculum and have knowledge of the range of appropriate strategies and approaches.

• Experience of report writing, coaching and modeling to staff.

• Experience of working independently and as part of a team.

• Effective use of ICT to support learning is essential along with excellent Literacy and communication skills.

• Requirement to work flexibly across Gateshead and travel independently to settings or have access to mobility support.

 

Full-time (37 hours per week) 8.30am-4.30pm Mon-Thurs and 8.30-4.00pm on Friday
