The Governing Body of a secondary school in Bury invites applications for the post of History Teacher, to be appointed on a full-time basis from September. This appointment supports the school’s continued commitment to high standards of teaching and learning within the Humanities curriculum.

The successful candidate will join an established department and contribute positively to the academic and wider life of the school. Applications are welcomed from both Early Career Teachers and experienced practitioners.

  • Teaching History across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Planning and delivering lessons that promote historical understanding and critical thinking
  • Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on pupil progress
  • Maintaining high expectations of behaviour, engagement, and academic achievement
  • Contributing to departmental development and wider school activities

Candidates should hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) 

  • Secure subject knowledge in History
  • A professional and well-organised approach to classroom practice
  • The ability to engage and challenge pupils of all abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A clear commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
