We are seeking a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join a well-established, Ofsted-rated Good secondary school in Darlington. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire young people and support them in achieving their full potential within the subject.

Whether you are an experienced teacher or newly qualified, we welcome applications from individuals committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for history and the ability to make the subject engaging and accessible to all students.

  • Plan, deliver, and assess History lessons for Key Stage 3 and 4 students.

  • Create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners.

  • Encourage students to think critically and develop a strong understanding of historical events.

  • Monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to help develop and enhance the History curriculum.

  • Contribute to school events and extracurricular opportunities.

  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Be a passionate History specialist with strong subject knowledge.

  • Inspire, motivate, and engage students of all abilities.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and classroom management skills.

  • Show commitment to ongoing professional development.

  • Have experience teaching GCSE History (desirable but not essential).

  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
