History Teacher at Poynton – Jan start – full-time permanent

One of Teaching Personnel’s client schools are currently recruiting for a full-time permanent teacher of History to start in January or as close to the beginning of term as possible. The school is an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ school based just south of Stockport and is within easy commuting distance from there as well as Macclesfield and the surrounding areas. Should you have access to a vehicle then this would allow easy access from Manchester, however this is not an essential requirement of the role as the school can also be accessed via train. The school benefits from outstanding facilities and services and affluent catchment area that provides students who are fully engaged within their work and take pride in their school identity.

The role itself would involve planning and delivering high quality History lessons and recording/raising attainment levels for each student. Differentiating between individual pupil requirements and catering towards SEN students and all levels of ability are essential to the role. The teacher will also be required to take on a full teaching timetable and attend parents evenings and school trips where necessary. The school would appreciate a candidate who was able to offer their expertise in helping to run extracurricular clubs where necessary and generally getting involved in the whole school life outside of the classroom. Some of the essential requirements of the candidate plus the pay is listed below:

  • Pay based on main pay scale ranging from: MPS1: £25,714 - MPS6: £36,961 per annum   depending on experience.
  • Must have QTS in History
  • Must have experience of delivering to GCSE level
  • Ability to challenge and stretch pupil’s of all abilities

The role would be suitable to both ECT’s and more experienced teachers, the school would find it beneficial if the candidate was also able to occasionally cover of subjects within Humanities and generally help the department out as a whole.
