About the Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting learning across the primary age range. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will help deliver engaging lessons, lead interventions, and provide targeted support to pupils who require additional assistance.

This position offers the chance to become part of a collaborative and forward-thinking school where your skills and contribution will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned learning activities to whole classes in the absence of the teacher when required
  • Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
  • Lead targeted intervention sessions for individuals and small groups
  • Provide tailored support for pupils with SEND, EAL, and additional learning needs
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
  • Assist with assessment, monitoring progress, and maintaining learning records
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and carers
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through clubs, activities, and school events

✅ The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience working as a HLTA or within a similar primary school role
  • Holds an HLTA qualification or has relevant equivalent experience
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of the primary curriculum
  • Has excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Is confident leading groups and delivering learning activities independently
  • Possesses strong communication and organisational skills
  • Is proactive, nurturing, and adaptable in their approach
  • Is committed to inclusive education and supporting every child to succeed
