Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Class Cover Included)

We are recruiting a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a primary school team, supporting across the school and providing class cover when required.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety and responsibility. You will work alongside teachers to support learning, lead small group sessions, and confidently step in to deliver pre-planned lessons during teacher absence or PPA time.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver lessons across KS1 and KS2 in the absence of the class teacher
• Support teaching and learning within the classroom
• Lead targeted interventions to raise attainment
• Assist with planning and preparation of resources
• Provide feedback on pupil progress to teaching staff

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold HLTA status or have significant classroom experience
• Be confident managing a class independently
• Have strong behaviour management skills
• Be flexible, organised, and adaptable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
