A well-established four-form entry primary school in Crosby is seeking to appoint an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) on a temporary-to-permanent basis from October 2026.

The initial contract will run for the full academic year, with the opportunity for a permanent position for the right candidate.

The school is highly regarded within the local community for its inclusive ethos, high expectations and commitment to ensuring every child reaches their full potential. As a larger primary setting, the successful candidate will become part of a supportive and collaborative staff team dedicated to delivering excellent outcomes for all pupils.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver planned lessons and provide long-term cover for:
  • PPA time
  • Staff absences
  • Intervention and small-group support where required
• Work across both Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2)
• Support pupils with a range of learning needs, ensuring high levels of engagement and progress
• Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and senior leaders to maintain consistency and high standards across the school

Requirements:

• Qualified HLTA (or equivalent), or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) seeking to broaden their experience across the primary age range
• Previous experience supporting pupils in both KS1 and KS2
• Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A commitment to promoting the school's inclusive values and nurturing learning environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
