An inspiring specialist educational provision in Weymouth is seeking a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join its committed team on a full-time basis from September 2026, with the opportunity to begin earlier for the right applicant.
This rewarding role is ideal for somebody passionate about supporting children and young people with additional learning needs while playing an active part in classroom leadership and pupil development.
The successful candidate will work closely alongside teachers and senior staff to deliver engaging lessons, support learning interventions, and help create a positive and structured educational environment.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will take on a varied and highly rewarding position supporting pupils across different age groups and abilities. Responsibilities may include:
The setting supports pupils with a range of special educational needs including autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, moderate learning difficulties, communication challenges, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
Applicants should possess strong communication skills, resilience, initiative, and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
Previous experience within specialist education, care, youth work, behavioural support, mentoring, or classroom leadership would be highly beneficial.
The school is particularly interested in candidates who can build positive relationships with pupils, adapt confidently to different situations, and contribute positively to the wider school community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
