About the Role

Are you a passionate and dedicated Health and Social Care Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic Health and Social Care Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school, where you'll inspire students to develop their knowledge, practical skills, and understanding of the health and social care sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, practical, and inclusive Health and Social Care lessons in line with the relevant curriculum and examination specifications.
  • Teach Health and Social Care across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, where applicable.
  • Prepare and support students for relevant GCSE, BTEC, or vocational Health and Social Care qualifications.
  • Create a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages students to develop their knowledge, confidence, and independent learning skills.
  • Develop students' understanding of key areas including human development, health and wellbeing, safeguarding, care needs, and professional practice.
  • Assess, monitor, and record students' progress, using assessment data to inform planning and provide targeted support.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring students of varying abilities are supported to achieve their potential.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, and attendance within the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, parents, and the wider school community to promote student achievement and wellbeing.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the Health and Social Care curriculum.
  • Experience teaching or supporting students at secondary level.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A passion for inspiring students through engaging and practical learning.
  • A commitment to raising attainment and supporting students of all abilities.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
