About the Role
Are you a passionate and dedicated Health and Social Care Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic Health and Social Care Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school, where you'll inspire students to develop their knowledge, practical skills, and understanding of the health and social care sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, practical, and inclusive Health and Social Care lessons in line with the relevant curriculum and examination specifications.
- Teach Health and Social Care across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, where applicable.
- Prepare and support students for relevant GCSE, BTEC, or vocational Health and Social Care qualifications.
- Create a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages students to develop their knowledge, confidence, and independent learning skills.
- Develop students' understanding of key areas including human development, health and wellbeing, safeguarding, care needs, and professional practice.
- Assess, monitor, and record students' progress, using assessment data to inform planning and provide targeted support.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring students of varying abilities are supported to achieve their potential.
- Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, and attendance within the classroom.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, parents, and the wider school community to promote student achievement and wellbeing.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the Health and Social Care curriculum.
- Experience teaching or supporting students at secondary level.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A passion for inspiring students through engaging and practical learning.
- A commitment to raising attainment and supporting students of all abilities.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
