We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of School to provide clear, strategic leadership across all aspects of the school. This pivotal role is responsible for creating a safe, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment for every pupil. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, effective staff and resource management, and a commitment to continually enhancing teaching and learning standards. Additionally, the Head of School will act as an ambassador within the local community and maintain robust relationships with governors and educational authorities.
- Provide inspiring and strategic leadership by setting clear goals aligned with the school’s vision and values.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring full compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Lead, motivate and support teaching and support staff through effective performance management and ongoing professional development.
- Oversee the design, delivery and evaluation of a dynamic curriculum that meets national standards and caters to the diverse needs of all learners.
- Monitor pupil progress and attainment, implementing targeted strategies to raise standards and overcome challenges.
- Manage budgets and resources efficiently to ensure value for money and long-term financial sustainability.
- Promote a positive, inclusive culture that fosters respect, well-being and a strong sense of belonging among pupils and staff.
- Build and maintain productive partnerships with parents, carers and the wider community to support the school’s objectives.
- Ensure rigorous adherence to health and safety policies across the school.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and present relevant information to governors, education authorities and other key stakeholders as required.
- Proven leadership experience in a senior educational role, ideally as a deputy head or assistant headteacher.
- Extensive experience in managing teams and leading successful school improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development and pupil assessment methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in managing budgets and resources effectively.
- Comprehensive understanding of the national education framework and statutory requirements.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Strong organisational skills with effective time management.
- Ability to analyse data to inform decisions and set measurable targets.
- Proficiency in utilising technology for management, reporting and communication purposes.
- Leadership qualities that inspire confidence and encourage a collaborative, inclusive environment.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Postgraduate qualification in educational leadership, management or a related discipline.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised professional qualification in education.
- Experience working within diverse communities and actively promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Familiarity with inspection frameworks and quality assurance processes.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
