We are currently recruiting for motivated and enthusiastic graduates to join a range of well-regarded secondary schools across Salford, Bolton, Bury, and Wigan as Graduate Teaching Assistants from September 2026.

This opportunity is ideally suited to graduates who are considering a career in education and are seeking to gain valuable, first-hand classroom experience in a secondary school setting.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely alongside teaching staff to support students aged 11–16 (and in some cases, sixth form students). You will play an important role in helping to raise attainment, promote engagement, and support students’ overall development.

  • Supporting the delivery of lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Providing targeted support to students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
  • Assisting with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Supporting students with varying academic abilities, including those with additional needs
  • Contributing to the preparation of lesson materials and resources
  • An undergraduate degree (all subjects considered)
  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A professional, reliable, and proactive approach
  • Previous experience working with young people and SEN is advantageous, though not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
