Teaching Personnel are looking for motivated graduates who are passionate about supporting young people and considering a future career in education, psychology, speech and language therapy, social work, counselling, or SEND provision.
This exciting opportunity is based in a specialist secondary school in Oldham, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (CLDD), sensory processing needs, and social, emotional and behavioural challenges.
Whether you've recently graduated or have some experience working with young people, this role offers valuable hands-on experience within a highly supportive specialist setting.
This isn't your typical classroom support role.
You'll be helping young people overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, develop independence, and achieve meaningful progress both academically and personally.

✅ Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis
✅ Helping pupils engage with learning and achieve individual EHCP targets
✅ Working alongside experienced teachers, therapists and specialist support staff
✅ Using communication strategies such as visual supports, PECS and other assistive methods
✅ Encouraging positive behaviour, emotional regulation and social development
✅ Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
✅ Assisting with personal care and mobility support when required
✅ Celebrating pupil achievements and helping them build confidence and independence
