Have you worked in education or do you have experience supporting children of a Primary school age?

Teaching Personnel have opportunities for graduates or degree holders starting after the Easter Holidays to work as a Teaching Assistant in Primary Schools across Newcastle and Gateshead.

Your role will include-

· Supporting the class Techer in the delivery of the lesson

· Supporting children in the classroom and on a 1:1 basis 

· Leading small intervention group work for under-performing children

The ideal candidates-

· Hold a minimum under graduate degree

· Have a strong level of Math and English to at least year 6 curriculum standard

· Previous interaction with children age 3-12 through either formal work in education, tutoring, volunteering, mentoring, coaching, child care or other

· Feel confident to work with small groups of children

· Feel confident to communicate with staff, students and parents on a daily basis

· Organised, punctual, passionate about education, can work well in a team

· Creative, confident, friendly, patient and dedicated

Do you have particular subject strengths you can offer?

It would be an added bonus if you felt confident or interested in subjects such as Music, Art, Sports/ P.E, Drama, R.E, Design, Computing as well as the core subjects of Math, English, Science, History/ Geography.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
