Finished university and considering a career in teaching?

Recently completed your degree or PGCE and looking to build your confidence and classroom experience before committing to a permanent teaching role?

SupplyBank is recruiting Graduate Teachers to join our partner secondary schools from September.

This role offers the perfect opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience, develop behaviour management skills and build your confidence leading lessons, all while working within supportive school environments.

As a Graduate Teacher, you will take responsibility for classes in the absence of the regular teacher, delivering pre-planned work and ensuring students remain engaged and on task throughout the lesson.

Whether you're planning to apply for teacher training, waiting for the right ECT opportunity, or simply want to gain more practical experience in schools, this role provides an excellent foundation.

  • Leading lessons across a range of subjects
  • Delivering work set by teaching staff
  • Managing classroom behaviour and expectations
  • Building positive relationships with students
  • Developing the confidence and skills required for a future teaching career
  • Recent graduates considering teaching as a career
  • Students completing their degree this summer
  • PGCE graduates looking for additional classroom experience
  • Aspiring teachers seeking exposure to different schools and year groups
  • Individuals with coaching, mentoring or youth work experience

Many teachers say they wish they had gained more classroom experience before stepping into a permanent teaching role. This opportunity allows you to develop the practical skills that schools value most, including classroom leadership, behaviour management and lesson delivery, while building confidence leading classes independently. You'll work alongside experienced teachers and school leaders, gain valuable insight into secondary school life, strengthen future teacher training or ECT applications, and explore different school environments to help you find the right fit for your long-term career in education.
