Graduate Sports Coach

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for Sports Graduates, to take on the role of Sports Assistants in Secondary Schools in Nelson, Lancashire for the Spring Summer term 2024.

Flexible contracts are available depending on candidate availability, with exact work patterns being agreed at interviews.

Job purpose:

To support the sports department in the delivery of an outstanding sporting programme. The successful candidates should be able to show a high level of competence and ability in coaching one or more of the schools focus sports: football, netball, cricket, or swimming.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist in the delivery of coaching of games lessons and the sporting co-curricular programme.
• Assist in the delivery of core PE, games, and swimming lessons.
• Assist in department administration as directed by the Director or Sport.
• Coaching, scoring, refereeing, or umpiring fixtures.

The post is suitable for candidates who are talented and passionate all-round sportspeople who wish to develop their coaching or become a PE teacher. The successful candidates will ideally possess high skill levels and knowledge of at least one of the school’s focus sports, and be hard-working, reliable individuals.
