What the role involves

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will help pupils access learning in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment. Your role may include:

  • Working alongside teachers to support classroom activities
  • Providing 1:1 or small‑group support for pupils with SEN (ASC, ADHD, communication & sensory needs, learning difficulties)
  • Supporting emotional regulation, communication and routines
  • Using creative approaches to make learning engaging and accessible
  • Helping pupils with transitions, organisation and confidence
  • Working with SENCOs and specialists such as speech therapists or behaviour teams
