About the role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate graduate to join a welcoming Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Rochdale as a Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate who is considering a long-term career in education, psychology, SEN, or child development.
You will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.
The school supports children aged 5–11 who may have been diagnosed with Autism, Learning Difficulties, and/or Complex Neurological Conditions. Many pupils may be receiving ongoing CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) support or awaiting multi-agency assessment. All students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), or are currently in the process of being assessed.
The school provides adapted, personalised approaches to learning to ensure every child can progress at their own pace.
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, support staff, and parents/carers to provide nurturing, consistent, and personalised support. You will help create an accessible, safe, and stimulating environment where every child can build confidence, develop communication skills, and achieve meaningful progress.
