We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a thriving secondary school in Kettering. This full-time position is ideal for candidates who hold a UK bachelor's degree (in any subject) and are passionate about supporting young people while working towards becoming a qualified teacher.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support students both in and out of the classroom, helping them to achieve their full potential. You will gain valuable classroom experience while receiving structured support and professional development.

This role offers a clear pathway into teaching through the United Teaching Postgraduate Programme.

Your training journey includes:

  • A one-week Summer Institute in July, introducing key principles of teaching, learning, behaviour management, safeguarding and curriculum.
  • Two induction days in school, allowing you to observe lessons, meet students and become familiar with your new environment before your September start.
  • A year-long programme based in your host school.
  • Dedicated training every Friday afternoon throughout the academic year.
  • Weekly lesson observations, mentoring meetings and termly review points.
  • Assessment against the Teachers' Standards, leading towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • The opportunity to complete a PGCE, with two academic assignments assessed by Goldsmiths, University of London.

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship – covering safeguarding, child development and effective classroom practice.
  • Level 5 Specialist Teaching Assistant (SEND Pathway) – designed for experienced support staff looking to specialise in SEND, behaviour, wellbeing and targeted interventions.
  • Holds a UK bachelor's degree in any subject.
  • Is eligible to undertake teacher training in England.
  • Aspires to become a qualified secondary teacher.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is passionate about education and supporting young people.
  • Is committed, resilient and eager to learn.
  • £90 per day.
  • Full-time role starting in September.
