Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a passionate and committed Geography Teacher to join a secondary school in Wincanton.
The school is looking for an engaging teacher who can inspire students to develop a strong understanding of both physical and human Geography. This is an opportunity to deliver a varied curriculum while helping students develop their analytical, geographical and critical-thinking skills.
The successful candidate will be expected to create stimulating lessons that encourage curiosity and help students understand how geographical processes influence the world around them.
You will be responsible for:
Teaching Geography across the relevant Key Stages
Planning and delivering well-structured and engaging lessons
Developing students' understanding of physical and human Geography
Preparing students for examinations where appropriate
Developing students' geographical enquiry and analytical skills
Using a variety of teaching strategies and resources
Differentiating lessons to meet individual learning needs
Assessing and monitoring student progress
Providing constructive feedback to support development
Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and achievement
Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Supporting students who require additional help
Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Humanities department
Contributing to wider school activities and the life of the school
The school would welcome applications from teachers who have:
Qualified Teacher Status or an appropriate teaching qualification
Strong subject knowledge in Geography
Experience teaching Geography within a secondary setting
Excellent classroom management skills
The ability to engage and motivate students
A commitment to inclusive teaching
Strong planning and organisational skills
Excellent communication skills
A passion for helping students achieve their potential
Early Career Teachers with appropriate training and subject knowledge are also encouraged to apply.
