Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Bushey that is looking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher to join its Humanities department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who wants to inspire students and help them develop a strong understanding of the world around them, from physical landscapes and environments to populations and global issues.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, challenging, and relevant Geography lessons that encourage students to question, analyse, and develop their understanding of local, national, and international geographical issues. Applications are welcomed from experienced teachers as well as Early Career Teachers who are keen to develop their practice within a supportive and collaborative school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities to teach Key Stage 5
• Inspire students to develop their understanding of both physical and human geography through relevant and interactive lessons
• Adapt and differentiate teaching approaches to ensure all students are supported and challenged appropriately
• Regularly assess and monitor student progress, putting appropriate interventions in place to maximise achievement
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students are encouraged to be curious, independent, and ambitious
• Develop students’ analytical, research, geographical enquiry, and critical-thinking skills
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Humanities department to support effective curriculum delivery and share best practice
• Maintain consistently high expectations for behaviour, attendance, progress, and student engagement

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• A degree in Geography or a closely related discipline
• Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Geography education
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• The ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities
• A commitment to raising attainment and supporting student wellbeing
• A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to the wider school community
